Social Farming Coordinator - 16 hours a week
This is an internal role, based at the farm, covering all our social farming activities including day placements for adults with a learning disability, schools visits, other group visits, workshops, volunteers and work experience students.
Part of the role is to oversee the Society's compliance with regulations associated with social farming such as Health and Safety, internal training, food hygiene, evidence recording (AQA awards) and safeguarding. The other part of the role is to host the day placement workshop on Fridays which centres on running our weekly pop-up shop selling farm produce and related activities such as weighing and labelling produce ready for sale. It also involves communicating with the primary carers of existing and future day placement co-workers.
The ideal candidate will have a keen interest and experience of working with adults with a learning disability, be familiar with the associated regulations and be confident with the administrative side of this work. Previous experience in other care related settings is essential and ideally those inspired by anthroposophy, such as the Camphill Communities. A clean driving license is also required.
Initially it is for sixteen hours per week with the prospect of the hours increasing as the social farming activities grow.
