Saturday 17 January 2026 — Fruit Tree Pruning
Learn the essential techniques to keep fruit trees productive and healthy. With Dr Anna Baldwin, founder member of the Essex Orchard Group and one of the region’s experienced pruning trainers. The emphasis of this workshop will be the pruning and care of mature apple trees with assessment of what is required now and a future maintenance plan.
10-4pm Cost £75 includes lunch & refreshments
🐦 Friday 23 January 2026 — Farm Walk: Winter Birdwatching
10–11am — A gentle winter walk exploring seasonal bird activity across the farm lead by Bird Aware Essex- this event is free but you must book, link here. Optionally, stay on for a two-course vegetarian lunch with the farmers- £15
🚶♂️ Friday 06 February 2026 — Friday Farm Walk
Join us for our monthly guided walk around the farm with farm director, Spencer Christy. Learn about the history of the farm, and why biodynamics is at the heart of it. 11am - 1pm suggested donation of £6. Optionally, stay on for a two-course vegetarian lunch with the farmers- £15
🕊️ Saturday 14 February 2026 — Farm Walk: Winter Birdwatching with Paul and Neils
A special guided session with Paul Jeffries, skipper of sailing barge hydrogen and keen birder Neils, who works on the farm—ideal for beginners and seasoned birdwatchers alike. Learn about the history of the estuary and its wildlife, followed by refreshments at the farm. 11-1pm followed by a light lunch £25 per person
🌳 Saturday 21 February 2026 — Graft an Apple Tree Workshop
A hands-on session where you’ll learn how to graft, with local experts Andrew Tann and Ben Lambert from Crapes Fruit farm in Aldham, Essex which grows apples, cherries, plums, quince and medlars for sale in their farm shop and UK-wide. Within this workshop you'll learn the basics of apple grafting and be skilled up with the whip and tounge method, by the end of this workshop you will be able to take home 3 different grafted saplings which you will have made yourself.
