Spencer Christy

Spencer was born in Maldon, Essex and begun building the farm business at Lauriston in 2004.  Within the CCBS, he sits on the Board of Trustees too.  Spencer is an active member of the Anthroposophical Society, a trustee with the Biodynamic Association and an attendee at the Maldon Quaker Meeting.
Monika Curry
Chair
Monika has been Chair of the Board since September 2019. She was born in Central Europe but has lived in the UK for most of her adulthood. She works in a management role in an independent roofing merchant business. Her pursuits span far and wide, including being a qualified Medical Herbalist. The belief that good health starts with healthy soil is perhaps why Biodynamics  resonates with her. She enjoys being part of Lauriston Farm CCBS and is committed to working with the Board and Members to build a flourishing Community and to secure its prosperous, long term future.
Odilia Kirst
Trustee

Odilia grew up in Kings Langley surrounded by Anthroposophy and Biodynamics. She teaches children with severe learning difficulties, helps to run the Biodynamic allotments in Kings Langley and is involved in the local Transition activities.  She has been a member of the Biodynamic Association for over 20 years and is now a trustee. She is a director of Ways to Quality UK and Ireland and a member of Lauriston Farm Limited.
Rob Dejean

​​Rob's career has spanned structural engineering, software development, quality assurance, and web design, working for the government, a bank, and running his own businesses. More recently, he has worked at an inland waterways marina, deepening his connection with nature. A supporter of clean food and natural methods, he earned a permaculture design qualification in 2023. An early member of Lauriston Farm, Rob is honoured to be able to assist the team achieve its goals.

​Naoya has previously worked in various fields including advisory and compliance at a large accountancy firm, as well as business development and marketing. He and his husband, Michael, attended the biodynamic training at Lauriston between 2013 and 2014. With Michael, he currently owns a 20 acre small holding in SW France near Bordeaux, working with biodynamic principles (not certified by Demeter).

Andre oversees all the general farm work including livestock and all the use and production of the biodynamic preparations at Lauriston.  He was born in the Netherlands and graduated in 1981 from the Dutch Biodynamic College Warmonderhof.  He has been the farmer and horticulturalist at a number of settings in the Netherlands and the UK, including Plasdwbl in Pembrokeshire and Laverstoke Park in Hampshire.

Monique oversees all the vegetable and fruit production at Lauriston.  Monique was born in the Netherlands and graduated in 1982 from the Dutch Biodynamic College, Warmonderhof.  She has been head gardener in a number of settings in the Netherlands and the UK including Plasdwbl in Pembrokeshire, Michael Hall in Sussex and Laverstoke Park in Hampshire.
Daniela is a hobbyist grower of eight years with a passion for organic production and healthy, sustainable food systems for both people and planet. She obtained her horticulture degree whilst managing a small gardening business and is now exploring the wonders of biodynamic production and undergoing the biodynamic apprenticeship at Lauriston Farm.

Steph joined the farm part-time in January 2021 and also has another job as joint founder and MD of a local heritage tourism business. 
She enjoys cycling to work and supporting the other team members in their roles.  Steph has lived in Maldon for 35 years and loves this special part of Essex's Saltmarsh Coast.

Lois Gardner
Wool Craft Volunteer

Lois runs the farm's Wool Craft workshops.  Having been born and bred in New Zealand, Lois' love of sheep is unsurprising.  She keeps a few Wensleydales, and keep to produce articles 'from sheep to shop': shearing, carding, spinning, natural dyeing and weaving.  She became a farm volunteer after hearing Spencer give a talk, and finds Biodynamics an inspirational beacon of common sense.

Anne-Marie Sinclair

Hannah Houlding
​Office Manager

Anne-Marie was born in Enfield, Middlesex. She lived and worked initially in north London as a care assistant then a SEN teacher. She moved to East Anglia and worked as a counsellor, therapist and a group facilitator helping people with weight loss. She became a Lauriston volunteer after meeting Spencer at a Steiner study group and helped to plant the celestial garden. She attended a number of workshops and talks on the farm including Eurythmy, Agricultural and Educational Biodynamics, and bees.
Hannah lives in Maldon with her husband and two teenage children. She enjoys being out in nature, walking her dog and swimming. She loves to travel, previously working in the travel industry and then for a bank, always enjoying working with people and helping customers.
Hannah has worked part time at Lauriston since April 2023. She also works from home as a beauty therapist. She has a keen interest in health and nutrition which is why she loves the holistic nature of biodynamic farming, working in this special place and being part of the team.
